Exploring the ways in which social roles and cues are ingrained culturally and learned in part through childhood and play, mundane found and repurposed materials familiar to the domestic sphere are patched, sewn, stuffed, printed and coloured, engaging metaphors of domesticity and comfort juxtaposing marginalization and social discrimination.

Moraa Stump is a material artist based in Toronto. Exploring the subjects of race, safety and physical space, Stump communicates Black diasporic lived experiences through materials found and repurposed from their current environment.
