“Knowing that I’ll never have the right things to say, this is a gentle invitation to tell me what you’ve grieved.

Grief looks different for everyone – you can give me all of it, bits of it or even a hint of it. There are so few people who we can tell anyway.

Make it ugly, make it bitter, make it a request – whatever you’re called to do. I know I haven’t done anything to gain your trust, but just so we’re not carrying this on our own, this is something I would like to offer you, and whatever you share is safe with me.
