Julia Dickens is a Toronto-based artist and illustrator. Julia completed 3 years of traditional animation at Algonquin College in Ottawa before studying at OCADu, where she is completing her Bachelor of Design in Illustration, with a minor in Painting and Drawing. Julia has worked as a educational workshop facilitator at the National Film Board of Canada Mediatheque and is a former board member at the The White House Studio Project, an artist run studio space and gallery in Toronto. Julia has shown work at various group shows in Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal and is a regular vendor at zine fairs including Canzine and Expozine.

Julia works primarily in 2D mediums, using figurative drawing, painting and text work to explore representations of memory and personal experience. She is interested in creating affordable art through multiples and self published books and creates work that attempts to make phenomological connections between her own subjective experience and that of the viewer.
