DJ BIOS

Ana Luisaaaaaa

ANA LUISA is a Toronto-based interdisciplinary artist and DJ who grew up getting down in house parties, clubs and quinceaños in Caracas, Venezuela. Her DJ sets usually blend different genres, but she’s best known for spinning hot hot Latin and Caribbean rhythms that make you want to move your booty.

DJ Lil Arepa

Camila Salcedo (DJ Lil Arepa) started DJing with her friends in Halifax in 2016 where she would also host Latin music parties, an anomaly in the East Coast city. She co-founded Cuarenteca with ana luisaaaaaa at the start of the quarantine, and now runs it alongside Colectivo Satelital, of which she is a member. She is also an interdisciplinary artist and community organizer based in Toronto.

DJ Call Me Pogi

DJ Call Me Pogi aka Gracie originally came to Toronto to further her post secondary education. After graduating from high school, she completed a 2 year course at Bermuda College, receiving an Associates Degree in Art & Design. In 2015, she was accepted into OCAD University, for the Drawing and Painting program in fine arts. She started djing in 2010, after being taken under the tutelage of Najib Tanzoui Chentouf; A well known DJ and MC host, of open mic events, weddings, Beachfest and more (in Bermuda). DJ Tanzoui, schooled her on a variety of music, broadening her views on the different genres around djing, as well as how to read crowds, working a sound board and MCing.

Throughout 2010 to 2014, she was able to get her first couple of big gigs, and meet people like Mr. Vegas, Dead Prez, Wayne Wonder, Tanya Stephen’s and more. Also throughout this time, she spent a lot of time volunteering at a culture hub, called Chewstick. Where she was responsible for organizing the youth open mic night, DJing special events, and just giving an extra hand all together. In 2015, she took on an internship at a local radio station, working under one of Bermuda’s most well known female DJs, DJ Bitsy. While working with her, she taught Gracie about radio software, recording and interviewing. As a Jack of all trades, her MC skills were put to the test, after being taken under the wing of Amir X, and to be featured in his show series, Bermuda Highlights. Learning all ranges of creative production, Amir made sure to teach her and the rest of his pupils what it was like to be off screen and on screen. Teaching Gracie the hard work and tireless days that go in, before, during, and after a production; as well as the effort that is put into perfecting something, to present it flawlessly. The skills that she learned throughout high school and years after, have all been put into practice. Currently working as part of the Go Hard team, spearheaded by veteran DJ Blackcat, and the official DJ for ‘Head in the Stars Music’ (an independent music and artist management label).

The party will be hosted on Zoom. The Zoom code will be sent to those who registered the day of via email so please stay tuned for all info needed for logging in and accessing this event.
