The Lost ♥ Supper
We are currently looking for artists, curators, designers, musicians, poets,
and other creative people, from all stages of their careers and love lives,
to share stories about art and heartbreak over a candle-lit dinner. This
group therapy session / artist talk, we would like to learn how the loss of
love has impacted your practice.
We think of this dinner party/performance/confessional as a way to explore
the ways that art can function as a tool for approaching emotional issues.
This exercise will help us gain a better understanding of each other’s
artwork, and the possibilities of art as a whole.
For this event we are requesting participants to give about a 5-15 minute
presentation along with digital images of artwork and any relevant material,
followed by some roundtable discussion.
This event will be documented in front of an audience. Participants will be
credited in the documentation. Food or light meal will be provided for
participants.
If you would like more information, please contact Jennie at
jennie@xpace.info. If you would like to participate please provide a tidbit
of your story along with some images or a description of the related works.
There is a limited number of participants so if you can RSVP sooner the
better! Please respond by Feb 28th if you are interested.
This event is a component of “Confessions of Love”, an exhibition at XPACE
of revised and new works about art and love by Daisuke Takeya and Tad
Hozumi.
