Wand-ing is a stop-motion animation about the unfortunate adventure of a little girl playing with magic. While this video features a playful tale of witchcraft and naughtiness, it also tackles issues of Latinx representation. Although the story’s set borrows from  Western witch tales’ aesthetic, the characters are not caucasian; their skins were painted to match the artist’s own. Moreover, due to the chosen storytelling format, the viewers are called to confront their own expectations and consider the stereotypes that have been broken, demonstrating that people of color do belong in fantasy tales.
