Frank is about working on a thing for too long, an attempt at an intricacy of form and a complexity
of colour through constant re-workings and slow processes of deterioration. Frank is made of spray insulation foam, paint, popped balloons and other materials found in the artist’s studio. For five years and counting, Frank is repeatedly disassembled, dissected and reconstituted again and again.  Lately Gardner has been putting Frank into windows to see how he copes with direct sunlight. At the very least, he has been getting a good tan.
