Companion Planting with grOCAD

GrOCAD presents a talk/hands-on workshop on designing a garden with companion plants: plants that have a synergistic effect with each other when planted together. Those in attendance will learn about various indigenous companion planting traditions; more recent scientific explanations of how they work and the different categories of planting functions, be it pest control or increased fertility.

GrOCAD is a group of students, faculty and staff working together to integrate plant life into our everyday experience by cultivating areas in and around OCAD U’s campus. grOCAD’s aim is to increase healthy food accessibility, encourage discourse about how plants improve quality of life, and heighten awareness of urban agricultural practices.
