What does it mean to be a diasporic person today? How can diasporic communities live in coexistence with their online and offline identities in a digitally driven future? Xpace invites you to hear Enna Kim, a second-generation immigrant, interdisciplinary artist and designer talk about her art practice on Tuesday, October 22 from 7-9PM. The talk will then be followed by an interactive workshop that explores themes of language, data, diaspora, identity, network, communication, online dating and friendships, cultural and intergenerational gaps, using mapping techniques.

Enna Kim is an experimental, interdisciplinary artist based in Toronto, Canada. Studying Digital Futures at OCAD University, Kim retraces her cultural past through animation, urban sketching and data visualization investigating the cultural and intergenerational gap that inevitably stands between immigrant parents and their children.

Feel free to participate in Enna’s thesis survey in the link below, as the workshop will be expanding on specific portions of the survey.
